Project on Promoting the Chemicals Knowledge in Life and Risk Communication Platform

In order to expand and maintain the website of Chemical Knowledge Map, the updated and expanded content includes: structural adjustments, display design of library homepage, and compilation of 34 “Domestic Events” related to the effects of chemical substances on the environment and the human body from 1961 to 2020 as well as designed the category index function based on the "Time Period" and “Event Type”. Added 10 “Hot Topics” regarding theme knowledge translation pictures about chemical substances, and 6 daily chemical substances in “Game and Interaction”, with the utilization of Google Analytics to analyse the usage and preferences of website users, proposing suggestions for improving web pages as the reference for business operations in the future. Continued to operate the "Chem Life" Facebook page: updated one post a day, held 5 mutual fan activities, and cooperated with 7 knowledge platforms. The broadcast of advertisements is used to attract more than 5,000 visitors for a post, and to achieve the goal of fan number with more than 10,000 people. In addition, made 5 pictures circulated on the social software, created one "Mercury Knowledge Labyrinth Adventure" online board game, held 2 board game briefing sessions, and conducted 4 media publications and 4 publications about chemical substances, Executive Yuan’s public service advertisement light boxes, etc., successfully conducting chemical substance risk communication via multiple channels. In addition, created 3 types of popular scientific electronic imaging textbooks, including "Introduction to Mercury Knowledge" in English version, "Dioxin" and "Nitrous Oxide". Compiled 500 copies of 2021 calendar, drew 500 copies of 30-story comic books, printed 1,000 copies of gender and life issue related brochures, re-edited the "Household Safe Use of Common Chemical Substances" (simplified version and professional learning version", printing 1,000 copies of printed literature for editing textualisation, graphicalisation and videolisation. More than that, all the translation materials are placed on the chemical knowledge map website for the public to download without spending any money to achieve the purpose of conveying chemical knowledge by spreading the chemical information. The content of copywriting is consulted with members having chemical backgrounds to make the information more accurate and reliable. Refer to the 2012 Risk Communication Strategy Plan of U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), incorporated the results of previous projects and important policy communication cases of the Toxic and Chemical Substances Bureau (TCSB), completed a set of risk communication training materials (including theory and practice parts), and invited risk communication experts as lecturers to conduct a session of education and training courses while providing reference for TCSB to set standards of risk communication to helping the management and control of chemical substances. In addition, in response to the needs of TCSB, assisted in translating the articles about chemical substances of daily life into articles that were published in "Mandarin Daily - Science Edition". Planned green life and green office (non-toxic office) in 2020 and 2021, assisted Environmental Protection Administration in design 3 comic characters, and held the "Towards a Mercury-Free Homeland - Inter-Ministry Press Conference" to present the results of the online board game of "Mercury Knowledge Labyrinth Adventure".
